Brandcom.ai is an AI-powered tool designed to help founders, startups and business owners launch their brands faster and smarter. It includes brand positioning, visual identity design, templates and more—bringing everything needed to kickstart a brand into one seamless experience.
The Problem
Many early-stage founders and business owners struggle with launching a consistent, attractive brand quickly. They often lack design experience and spend too much time jumping between tools without clarity or cohesion.
The Goal
Design an AI powered branding tool that makes it quick and easy to for anyone of any skill level to create a brand identity.
Challenges Faced
With other important tools like, social post design and content calendars, all under one umbrella, it was important to prioritize the core offering of the MVP and highlight user outcomes, not just features.
Little Direct Competitors
This is an advantage, but it also reduced the impact of a competitve analysis with these competitors
Results
Clear and direct forms to collect the brand's information to automatically generate the brand positioning, and suggestions for the visual identity.
Process
Competitive Analysis
I analyzed competitors and user pain points around launching brands with limited resources. I interviewed early adopters and reviewed startup founder forums to understand their top needs: speed, simplicity, and standout results.
Personas & User Journey
I created 4 user personas from our target customers, each with a user journey to get insights and paim points that to further isolate areas of focus.
Ideation
Using the "How Might We..." method I brainstormed ideas on how to solve the most pressing pain poitd for a smoother user flow. Then I mapped out user flows to get the blueprint of a users' interactions. This user flow informed the Information architecture of the tool.
Iterative Design & User Testing
Applying best UI design practices, I design the first draft of brandcom.ai and sent it out for testing in a small user group. I was able to uncover areas that would cause friction tot he user experience and fix them accordingly.
Mockups
Key Learnings
A previous idea was to use a chatbot style as is common with AI tools. That level of interactivity will make it harder for non-design savvy users to quickl create their brand. So, instead I used in the background throught the form and atugenerate features. Allowing for a quick user flow.
Gradients are a great way to set a product apart visually.
A thourough competitive analysis, not only helped me discover opportunities to set brandcom.ai apart, but also replicting what was working for users.
